This OEM draft pressure-proving switch is the factory-specified replacement for the Carrier PY4GNAB24060NA packaged unit. The pressure switch monitors the negative pressure (draft) created by the inducer motor before allowing the ignition sequence to proceed. When it fails — or when the inducer is unable to generate adequate draft — the switch stays open, locking out the furnace before a single spark fires. Symptoms include a system that attempts to start but shuts down immediately, an inducer that runs continuously with no ignition, or a fault code indicating a pressure switch failure on your control board.
