The integrated furnace control (IFC) board is the brain of your Carrier furnace. It sequences the entire heating cycle — energizing the inducer, proving the pressure switch, firing the igniter, opening the gas valve, monitoring the flame sensor, and timing the blower on/off delays. When it fails you'll see erratic behavior: the furnace won't start at all, the blower runs nonstop, the system short-cycles, or a diagnostic LED flashes a fault code that won't clear after a reset. Scorched spots or a sharp ozone/"fishy" smell on the board point to a failed relay. This integrated board carries the onboard relays for the inducer, the heat and cool blower taps, and the humidifier/EAC terminals, plus the flame-sense circuit and a diagnostic LED for fault codes. It runs on a 24 VAC control signal from the transformer. Compatibility is keyed to the furnace model and wiring harness — match the board's part number and connector pin layout against the unit's data plate before installing. A control board governs gas ignition timing and safety lockouts, so firmware and relay ratings must match your furnace exactly.
