This OEM Carrier high pressure switch (HK02ZA442) is the factory-specified refrigerant-side safety switch for the Carrier PY1RPA060074AAWB packaged unit. Mounted in the high-side refrigerant circuit, it monitors discharge pressure and opens the control circuit when pressure exceeds safe operating limits — protecting the compressor from catastrophic damage. When this switch fails or trips on a fault, the system will lock out, display a high-pressure fault code, or short-cycle without producing cooling.
