The condenser fan motor is the workhorse of your Carrier outdoor unit, spinning the fan blade that pulls ambient air across the condenser coil so the system can reject the heat it pulled out of your home. When this motor begins to fail, the symptoms are hard to miss: a loud humming or buzzing from the outdoor unit while the blade barely turns or sits dead still, an outdoor cabinet that is scorching hot to the touch, warm air drifting from your supply registers, and in many cases a compressor that trips on high-pressure or kicks the breaker because heat has nowhere to go.
