OEM Carrier Condenser Fan Motor 1/4 HP 208-230V 1100 RPM for Model PH13NR04800GAFAA

This OEM condenser fan motor (part number HC39GE237) is the factory-specified replacement for the Carrier PH13NR04800GAFAA heat pump condensing unit. The condenser fan motor draws air across the condenser coil and over the compressor to reject heat from the refrigerant circuit. When this motor fails, the system will overheat and trip on high-pressure lockout, the compressor may shut down on thermal protection, or the fan blade will simply stop spinning — leaving your system unable to cool or heat effectively. Also supersedes secondary OEM part number HC38GE231.

  • Specs: 1/4 HP | 208-230V | 1100 RPM | 48Y Frame | 5-5/8" diameter | 1.5" shaft | 3-wire | Clockwise rotation (lead end) | Requires 5 MFD 370V run capacitor (sold separately)
  • OEM vs Generic: This is a genuine Carrier OEM motor manufactured to exact factory tolerances, preserving your unit's SEER rating, UL listing, and Energy Star certification. Aftermarket motors often deviate in RPM, amperage draw, or shaft diameter — accelerating wear on the fan blade hub and condenser bearings.
  • Install difficulty: 3/5 — Shut off power at the disconnect and verify zero voltage with a multimeter before opening the unit. Tools needed: 1/4" and 5/16" nut drivers, needle-nose pliers, wire stripper, multimeter. Photograph all wiring connections before disconnecting. Note rotation direction and shaft orientation before removing the old motor. A blade puller is recommended to avoid shaft damage.
  • Warranty: 1-year OEM factory warranty. In stock and ships same business day from our warehouse.

Compatibility: Confirmed fit for Carrier model PH13NR04800GAFAA heat pump condensing unit. Also replaces OEM part numbers HC39GE237A, HC39GE236A, HC39GE234A, HC39GE232A, HC37GE232, HC39GE231, HC38GE231, and GE Genteq model 5KCP39FGS071S. Always verify HP, voltage, RPM, frame size, and rotation against your unit's motor nameplate before ordering. Our fitment team is available to confirm compatibility — reach out before you buy.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this Fan Motor fit my Carrier PH13NR04800GAFAA?
Yes. This is the factory-specified OEM fan motor for the Carrier PH13NR04800GAFAA. It is a direct drop-in replacement that fits without modification. Always verify the model number on your equipment nameplate before ordering.
How do I replace the fan motor on my Carrier PH13NR04800GAFAA?
Difficulty: Medium-Hard (1–2 hrs)
Step 1: Turn off breaker. Step 2: Note motor specs: HP, RPM, voltage, rotation direction. Step 3: Remove old motor from mounting. Step 4: Transfer fan blade to new motor. Step 5: Mount new motor, reconnect wiring. Step 6: Restore power, verify rotation direction.
My AC fan isn’t spinning. What part do I need?
Fan not spinning, spinning slowly, or making grinding/squealing noises = motor failure. Grinding = bearings failed. Squealing = bearings dry. No spin + hum = check the motor capacitor first before replacing the entire motor.
Is this fan motor compatible with Bryant or Payne too?
Many Carrier parts are cross-compatible with Bryant and Payne since all three brands are manufactured by Carrier Global Corporation. The same physical part is often used across brand labels with different model numbers. To verify: check your Bryant or Payne equipment service manual for cross-compatible part numbers, or email info@nationalhvacparts.com with your model number.
Should I use OEM or aftermarket for my Carrier fan motor?
OEM recommended for reliability and warranty compatibility. OEM parts match exact factory specifications for proper fit, performance, and safety. While aftermarket alternatives cost less upfront, the risk of improper fit and reduced lifespan usually makes OEM the better value long-term.
How fast does National HVAC Parts ship?
