This is the factory OEM replacement flame sensor for the Carrier PG95XAT60080CAAA 95% AFUE gas furnace. The flame sensor is a critical safety component — it detects the presence of a burner flame via electrical rectification and signals the integrated furnace control (IFC) board to keep the gas valve open. When the sensor fails or becomes coated with oxidation, the furnace will light briefly then shut off after 5–8 seconds, typically triggering a fault lockout code on the control board. This is one of the most common causes of a "furnace starts then shuts off" no-heat call.
