The run capacitor gives your blower motor (and on packaged units, the condenser fan and compressor) the constant phase-shifted current it needs to keep spinning efficiently. It stores and releases energy on every AC cycle to maintain torque. When a capacitor weakens or fails, the motor struggles: you'll hear a low hum from a motor that won't start, notice the blower turning slowly or not at all, feel weak airflow, or trip the breaker as the motor draws locked-rotor amperage.
