This OEM step-down transformer is the factory-specified replacement for the Carrier PG8DAA060115ACJA gas furnace. It converts 120V line voltage down to 24V AC to power all low-voltage control circuit components — including the thermostat, control board, gas valve coil, and zone controllers. When the transformer fails, the entire control circuit loses power: the thermostat goes blank, the furnace won't respond to calls for heat, and nothing turns on. A blown 3A fuse on the secondary side is often the first sign of transformer stress or a downstream short.
