OEM Carrier Pressure Switch w/ Bracket (-0.33" W.C.) for Model PG8DAA036050ADJA
This is the factory-specified OEM pressure switch with mounting bracket for the Carrier PG8DAA036050ADJA packaged gas furnace. The pressure switch is a normally-open safety device that monitors the negative pressure (draft) created by the inducer motor. Once the inducer reaches proper speed and airflow, the diaphragm inside the switch deflects and closes the circuit — signaling the control board to advance to the ignition sequence. If the switch fails, sticks open, or the hose connection becomes cracked or blocked, the furnace will lock out before ignition, generating a fault code and leaving the home without heat.

OEM vs Generic: This is a genuine Carrier OEM part engineered to the exact diaphragm tension and W.C. rating for the PG8DAA series. Generic substitutes often carry ±10–15% W.C. variance, which can cause nuisance lockouts or, worse, allow the furnace to fire under inadequate draft conditions.

Install difficulty: 2/5 — Tools needed: 1/4" nut driver, needle-nose pliers, flathead screwdriver. Turn off power and gas before beginning. Disconnect the rubber hose from the inducer port, unplug the wiring harness, remove the bracket screws, and reverse for installation. Inspect the rubber hose for cracks or blockages before condemning the switch itself.
