This OEM thermostat kit for the Tempstar TEB09R34STA packaged terminal unit includes the PTAC thermostat (part 1058517) and its matching control knob (part 1058437). The thermostat senses room temperature and cycles the unit's heating and cooling stages to hold the setpoint; the knob is the user-facing control that selects that setpoint. A failed thermostat is one of the most common reasons a PTAC unit short-cycles, never satisfies the setpoint, or runs continuously. A cracked, stripped, or missing knob makes accurate adjustment impossible even when the thermostat itself is healthy.

Installation Guide

1. Safety First — Disconnect power at the unit and breaker, then verify zero voltage with a multimeter.
2. Access — Pull the control knob and remove the front grille and control-panel cover.
3. Document — Photograph the thermostat wiring before removing any leads.
4. Remove — Disconnect the thermostat leads and unclip the old thermostat body from the bracket.
5. Install — Mount the new 1058517 thermostat, reconnect the wires per your photo, and press on the new 1058437 knob.
6. Test — Restore power and confirm the unit responds to setpoint changes in both heat and cool.
