Overview

This OEM PTAC thermostat kit replaces the temperature control for the Tempstar TEB09K25STA packaged terminal air conditioner. It includes the PTAC thermostat body (OEM 1058517) and the matching field-replaceable control knob (OEM 1058437). The thermostat senses room temperature and cycles the unit's compressor and fan to hold setpoint; the knob provides the user adjustment interface. When the thermostat fails, the unit may run continuously, refuse to start, short-cycle, or drift off temperature. A worn or cracked knob prevents accurate setpoint adjustment even with a healthy thermostat underneath.

Installation Guide

1. Safety First – Disconnect power at the unit disconnect and verify zero voltage with a multimeter.
2. Access – Remove the front grille and service panel to expose the control box.
3. Document – Photograph all thermostat wire terminations before disconnecting.
4. Remove – Pull the knob, release the thermostat mounting, and disconnect the sensor and wire leads from the old thermostat.
5. Install – Mount the new thermostat, route the sensor bulb to its original clip, reconnect leads per your photo, and press on the new knob.
6. Test – Restore power, set a call for cooling/heating, and verify the unit cycles correctly at setpoint.
