Overview

This OEM PTAC thermostat assembly is the temperature control for the Tempstar TEB07K25STA packaged terminal air conditioner. The kit combines the rotary thermostat knob (OEM 1058437) with the PTAC thermostat body (OEM 1058517) so the unit can sense room temperature and cycle the compressor and fan on demand. These are 24V low-voltage controls. A failed PTAC thermostat causes the unit to run continuously, fail to start, or hold the wrong temperature no matter where the knob is set. Cracked or stripped knobs are an especially common failure on hotel and apartment units where the control is adjusted constantly, leaving occupants unable to change the setpoint.

Installation Guide

1. Safety First — Disconnect power at the unit and breaker, then verify zero voltage with a multimeter.
2. Access — Slide off the PTAC front cover/decorative panel to reach the control box.
3. Document — Photograph all thermostat wiring before disconnecting.
4. Remove — Pull the old knob off the stem, release the thermostat clip/screws, and disconnect the spade terminals.
5. Install — Mount the new thermostat, reconnect the leads per your photo, and press the new knob onto the stem.
6. Test — Restore power, rotate through the range, and confirm the unit cycles on cooling and heating calls.
