Overview

This OEM pressure switch set protects your Tempstar TSH542GKA200 heat pump by monitoring refrigerant pressure on both the high and low sides. The high-pressure switch (part 1184656) shuts down the compressor when discharge pressure spikes — usually from a dirty condenser coil, restricted airflow, or an overcharged system. The low-pressure switch (part 1184655) guards against loss of charge, a failed metering device, or low ambient operation. When a switch fails, the system short-cycles, refuses to start, or locks out. Replacing both as a set restores full refrigerant-side safety protection.
