Overview

This OEM pressure switch set protects the Tempstar TSH524GKA100 by monitoring refrigerant system pressure and shutting the compressor down before damage occurs. The set includes the high-pressure switch (Part No. 1184656) and the low-pressure switch (Part No. 1184655). The high-pressure switch opens if discharge pressure climbs too high — typically from a dirty condenser coil, failed fan, or overcharge — while the low-pressure switch opens on a loss of charge or restricted flow. Each switch is wired in the 24V control circuit, so a tripped switch interrupts the contactor coil and stops the unit. Faulty or stuck switches cause nuisance lockouts, no-cool calls, or a compressor that fails to start even though everything else checks out.
