This OEM pressure switch set for the Tempstar TSH536GKA100 includes the high-pressure switch (part number 1184656) and the low-pressure switch (part number 1184655). These refrigerant safety switches protect the compressor by monitoring system pressure. The high-pressure switch opens the control circuit and shuts down the compressor when discharge pressure climbs too high — typically caused by a dirty condenser coil, a failing condenser fan, or an overcharge. The low-pressure switch opens when suction pressure drops too low, protecting against loss of charge, a stuck metering device, or restricted airflow. When either switch trips or fails, the unit will lock out or fail to start, often with no obvious mechanical fault.
