This OEM hot surface igniter (HSI) is the ignition source for the Tempstar T8DNL100F14B2 gas furnace. When a heat call is received, the 120V silicon-carbide element glows red-hot to ignite the gas burners on startup. A cracked, eroded, or open igniter is one of the most common causes of furnace no-heat conditions. Installation Guide

5. Install — Seat the new igniter so the element sits in the burner flame path, reinstall the screw, and reconnect the harness per your photo.
