This OEM hot surface igniter (HSI) is the ignition source for the Tempstar T8DNL100F14B1 gas furnace. On each heat call, the 120V silicon-carbide element glows red-hot to ignite the gas burners. A cracked, eroded, or electrically open igniter is one of the most frequent causes of a furnace that fails to light. This is the genuine OEM igniter (part number 1172533, IGNITOR HSI); the matched OEM gas valve assembly (1172821, VALVE N HSI SNAP HW VR8205S) is also available for this model.

Installation Guide

5. Install — Seat the new igniter so the element sits in the burner flame path, reinstall the screw, and reconnect the harness per your photo.
6. Test — Restore gas and power, run a heat cycle, and confirm the igniter glows and the burners light promptly.
