Overview

This OEM high-pressure switch (part 1184656) is the high-side refrigerant safety control for the Tempstar TCA936GKA200. It continuously monitors discharge pressure and opens the control circuit if pressure climbs to an unsafe level — typically from a dirty condenser coil, a failing fan motor, overcharge, or restricted airflow. By cutting the compressor before pressures become dangerous, it prevents catastrophic compressor and line-set damage.
