This OEM pressure switch set for the Tempstar TSH424GKA101 includes the high-pressure switch (Part No. 1184656) and the low-pressure switch (Part No. 1184655). These are refrigerant-side safety controls wired into the 24V control circuit. The high-pressure switch opens and shuts the compressor down if discharge pressure climbs to an unsafe level (commonly from a dirty condenser coil, a failed fan, or overcharge). The low-pressure switch opens on a loss of charge or low suction pressure to protect the compressor from running dry. Together they prevent compressor damage and are a frequent cause of a unit that starts and then short-cycles or refuses to run.
