Overview

This OEM 40VA control transformer (part number 1011626) steps line voltage down from 115V to the 24V low-voltage power used by the Tempstar TDE075B12B2 furnace control board, gas valve, thermostat, and ignition circuit. If the transformer fails, the furnace loses all control power — the thermostat goes blank, the board won't energize, and the system will not start. Transformers commonly fail from age, a shorted low-voltage circuit overloading the secondary, or power surges that open a winding or cause overheating.
