Overview

This OEM 24V control transformer supplies the low-voltage power that runs the TSH560GKA100 heat pump's control circuit — energizing the contactor coil, reversing valve solenoid, and thermostat circuit (related OEM components 1172574 and 1175622). Rated at 40VA, it steps line voltage down to the 24V the control board and relays require. When a transformer fails, nothing in the low-voltage circuit responds: the thermostat goes blank, the contactor never pulls in, and the system appears completely dead even though high-voltage power is present. A buzzing, overheating, or short-circuited transformer is a frequent root cause of no-heat / no-cool service calls.
