Overview

This is the genuine OEM single-pole 25-amp contactor with a 24-volt coil (part 1050699, CONTACTOR 1P 25A 24V) for the Tempstar TCH436AKD1 condensing unit. The contactor is the high-current relay that switches line voltage to the compressor and condenser fan motor whenever the thermostat calls for cooling and energizes the 24V coil. Over time the contact points pit, arc, and weld; the coil can also open or chatter. A failing contactor causes hard starts, buzzing, no-cool calls, or a unit that won't shut off because the contacts have welded closed.

Installation Guide

1. Safety First — Disconnect power at the outdoor disconnect and verify zero voltage with a multimeter.
2. Access — Remove the condenser control-panel cover.
3. Document — Photograph all line, load, and 24V coil connections before disconnecting.
4. Remove — Transfer wires one at a time to the new contactor, or label them, then unfasten the old contactor from the bracket.
5. Install — Mount the new contactor and reconnect every wire to the matching terminal per your photo.
6. Test — Restore power, call for cooling, and confirm the contactor pulls in cleanly and the compressor/fan start.
