The ZPS (UltraTech) platform is a two-stage scroll design that modulates capacity for improved comfort, humidity control, and efficiency by running at low stage during mild loads and full stage on demand. As the core of the refrigeration circuit, it compresses and circulates refrigerant to enable heat transfer throughout the system.
Common failure symptoms: reduced or no cooling, inability to shift between stages, unusual noise or vibration, breaker trips, high amp draw, or a compressor that starts hard and drops out on overload. Failed internal windings and mechanical wear are typical on high-hour units.
