The Comfortmaker 10531 is an OEM hot surface igniter and module bracket assembly engineered for CF30 series gas furnaces. The igniter heats to roughly 2,000°F to ignite the burner gas on each heat call, while the integrated mounting bracket positions the igniter precisely in the burner flame path and supports the ignition module. A failed igniter is one of the most common causes of no-heat calls — the silicon-carbide element becomes brittle with age and thermal cycling, eventually cracking and breaking the circuit. When that happens the furnace runs the inducer and blower but never lights, or it short-cycles on ignition lockout. Installation Guide
- Safety First — Disconnect power at the furnace switch and verify zero voltage with a multimeter; shut off the gas supply.
- Access — Remove the burner compartment service panel.
- Document — Photograph the igniter wiring and bracket position before disconnecting.
- Remove — Unplug the igniter connector, remove the bracket mounting screws, and lift out the old igniter and bracket as an assembly. Handle the new igniter by the ceramic base only — never touch the silicon-carbide element.
- Install — Mount the new bracket assembly, align the igniter in the burner flame path, and reconnect the wiring per your photo.
- Test — Restore gas and power, then watch a full ignition cycle to confirm the igniter glows and the burner lights cleanly.
