Every Fujitsu Halcyon ductless mini-split error code. The indoor unit timer and operation lights blink in patterns to indicate faults.
Red light flashing
General Error / System Protection
The operation light flashing red indicates the system has detected a fault and shut down for protection.
DIY check: Note the blink pattern, power cycle. Check filters and outdoor unit.
Timer: 1 blink
Indoor Room Thermistor Error
The room temperature sensor has failed or is reading out of range.
DIY check: Clean the filter. Power cycle. Sensor may need replacement.
Timer: 2 blinks
Indoor Coil Thermistor Error
The indoor coil temperature sensor has failed.
DIY check: Power cycle. Thermistor replacement if persistent.
Timer: 3 blinks
Outdoor Coil Thermistor Error
The outdoor coil temperature sensor has failed.
DIY check: Power cycle. Outdoor sensor replacement needed.
Timer: 4 blinks
Outdoor Air Thermistor Error
The outdoor ambient temperature sensor has failed.
DIY check: Power cycle. Check sensor wiring at outdoor unit.
Timer: 5 blinks
Compressor Discharge Thermistor Error
The compressor discharge temperature sensor has failed or reading too high.
DIY check: This usually requires a technician. May indicate low refrigerant.
Timer: 6 blinks
Overcurrent / Overload Protection
The system is drawing too much current. Possible compressor issue.
DIY check: Clean outdoor coil. Check voltage at disconnect. Call technician if persistent.
Timer: 7 blinks
High Pressure Protection
System pressure is too high. Dirty outdoor coil, blocked airflow, or refrigerant overcharge.
DIY check: Clean outdoor coil thoroughly. Ensure adequate clearance around outdoor unit.
Timer: 8 blinks
Communication Error (Indoor/Outdoor)
Communication failure between indoor and outdoor units.
DIY check: Check communication wiring. Power cycle both units.
Timer: 9 blinks
Drain Pump Error
The condensate drain pump has failed or drain line is clogged.
DIY check: Clear the drain line. Clean the drain pump. Check for blockages.
Timer: 10 blinks
Outdoor Fan Motor Error
The outdoor fan motor has failed or is not reaching the correct speed.
DIY check: Check if outdoor fan is physically blocked. Motor replacement usually needed.
Timer: 11 blinks
Compressor Motor Overheat
The compressor is overheating. Low refrigerant, dirty coils, or compressor failure.
DIY check: Clean both coils. Call technician for refrigerant check.
