R-410A Copeland Scroll compressors require Copeland Ultra 22CC polyolester oil. R-22 Copeland compressors use mineral oil (Copeland 3MAF). Never mix oil types — using incorrect compressor oil will void the Copeland warranty and can cause premature compressor failure.
Copeland compressors can technically be replaced with equivalent compressors from other manufacturers, but doing so typically voids the OEM equipment warranty. For warranty-covered systems, we strongly recommend replacing with the exact OEM-specified Copeland model. We can also assist in cross-referencing to an approved alternative if the original model is discontinued.
Yes. The Copeland Digital Scroll (ZPD series) uses an on/off unloading mechanism to achieve variable capacity operation. We stock ZPD Digital Scroll assemblies in the most common tonnages and provide the factory-specified control board and solenoid valve required for Digital Scroll operation.
