Model vs serial — which do you need?
The model number identifies what the equipment is — it's what parts lookups and replacement quotes key off. The serial number is unique to your unit and encodes the manufacture date. For a parts order you want the model; for age or warranty, the serial. When in doubt, capture both — they're on the same plate.
