Step-by-Step Replacement

  1. Safety first: Turn off power at disconnect and breaker
  2. Access panel: Remove service panel on condenser
  3. Photograph wiring: Take photos before disconnecting
  4. Discharge capacitor: Short terminals with insulated screwdriver
  5. Remove old capacitor: Disconnect wires and remove mounting
  6. Install new capacitor: Match wire connections to photos
  7. Test: Mount capacitor, replace panel, restore power
