The genuine Goodman 0130F00436 Pressure Switch is the combustion-air / draft-proving safety control for the Goodman ACVC960804CNAA 96% AFUE two-stage variable-speed gas furnace. Connected to the induced-draft blower by a hose, it confirms adequate negative pressure (proper venting and a clear flue/condensate path) before the control board allows the igniter and gas valve to energize. A failed switch, a clogged hose, or a blocked vent is the usual cause of a furnace that runs the inducer but never lights, often flashing a pressure-switch / Code 31 fault.
Pressure switches are calibrated to a specific trip point (in inches of water column) matched to this furnace's inducer and vent design. The OEM 0130F00436 ships with the correct setpoint and port configuration. A generic switch with the wrong rating can nuisance-lockout or fail to detect a true venting blockage, so the genuine Goodman part is strongly recommended.
Moderate (3/5). Disconnect the wiring and pressure hose, remove two mounting screws, and transfer the hose to the new switch without kinks. Shut off gas and electrical power first. Typical install time: 15–20 minutes. Always inspect the hose and inducer port for condensate or debris before replacing the switch.
