The Goodman 10123529 Manual Reset Limit Switch is a genuine OEM safety high-limit / rollout switch for the AMVM970803BNAA modulating gas furnace and compatible Goodman, Amana, and Daikin models. It monitors for abnormal heat or flame rollout at the burner box and instantly opens the gas-valve circuit if a dangerous temperature is reached, shutting the furnace down. Because it is a manual reset device, it stays tripped until an operator presses the button — a deliberate design that forces a technician to diagnose the root cause (blocked flue, cracked heat exchanger, restricted airflow) before the furnace can run again.
The OEM 10123529 is calibrated to the factory trip temperature for this furnace's heat exchanger. Generic limits with a different setpoint can nuisance-trip or, worse, fail to trip in time. For a life-safety component, OEM calibration is not optional — use the exact part.
Moderate (2/5). Remove power and gas, unplug the two spade terminals, and swap the bracket-mounted switch. Basic hand tools and a multimeter to confirm continuity. If it keeps tripping, stop and have the heat exchanger inspected.
