The Goodman 0130M00075 Low Pressure Switch is a genuine OEM suction-side safety control designed for the APH1624M41AB heat pump. It monitors low-side refrigerant pressure and opens the compressor circuit when pressure falls below the safe threshold — guarding against loss-of-charge, a stuck metering device, or a frozen coil that would otherwise let the compressor run dry and slug. Symptoms of a failing low-pressure switch include short-cycling, a compressor that won't start in cold weather, or a loss-of-charge lockout code.
The OEM Goodman switch carries the precise low-pressure cut-out setpoint this system expects, so it protects the compressor without nuisance trips during normal low-ambient operation. Generic switches with the wrong setpoint either lock the unit out prematurely or fail to protect it at all. OEM keeps the safety window correct.
Moderate (3 of 5). Requires accessing the low-side port, transferring the spade terminals, and leak-checking the connection. About 30–45 minutes. Refrigerant-side service should be done by an EPA 608-certified technician.
