The Goodman 0130M00075 Low Pressure Switch is a genuine OEM loss-of-charge safety control for APH1448H41EB package heat pumps. Installed on the suction (low) side, it opens the compressor circuit when suction pressure drops too low — a sign of refrigerant undercharge, a leak, a restricted metering device, or a frozen coil. By shutting the compressor down before it runs without adequate refrigerant, this switch prevents overheating and lubrication loss that would otherwise destroy the compressor.
Low-side setpoints are calibrated to the APH1448 platform so the switch distinguishes a genuine low-charge condition from normal cold-weather suction pressures. This OEM control uses the correct cut-out/cut-in values and matching fitting. Generic switches often nuisance-trip during heat-mode operation or fail to protect against a slow leak.
Typically threads onto a self-sealing Schrader port, allowing a swap without full refrigerant recovery on most units. Disconnect power, move the two spade leads to the new switch, and confirm operation. If the port is not self-sealing, recovery is required — have a licensed technician perform the change.
