The Goodman 10690402S Interlock Door Switch is a genuine OEM safety switch designed for the ACVM970603BNAA furnace and related Goodman/Amana models. Mounted in the blower compartment, this normally-open plunger switch cuts power to the furnace whenever the access panel is removed — a code-required safety feature that prevents the blower and burners from operating with the door open.
A worn or stuck door switch is one of the most common reasons a furnace will not start: if the plunger fails to close the circuit, the control board never energizes. Replacing it with the correct OEM part restores reliable, safe operation.
The OEM Goodman switch matches the factory bracket location, plunger travel, and terminal layout for a drop-in fit. Generic interlock switches may need bracket modification or adapter leads and can have inconsistent actuation depth, leading to intermittent no-heat faults.
Easy (2/5). Kill power at the breaker, unplug the two spade terminals, remove the mounting screw or clip, and snap the new switch into place. Verify the panel depresses the plunger fully when reinstalled. Typical job time is 15 minutes.
