The Goodman 0130M00074 is an OEM high-pressure safety switch that installs on the discharge (high) side of the refrigerant circuit in WPH4360AMAB packaged units. It opens the control circuit and shuts down the compressor if discharge pressure climbs too high — protecting the compressor from a dirty condenser coil, a failed condenser fan, or a restricted system. On R-410A equipment these switches typically cut out near the low-600s psi range and auto-reset once pressure drops back to a safe band.
Because this is a safety device, the trip and reset setpoints must match Goodman's engineering exactly. The OEM switch is calibrated to the correct cut-out/cut-in pressures and uses the matching port thread and terminal spacing for a true plug-in fit. A generic switch with the wrong setpoint can either nuisance-trip on hot days or fail to protect the compressor at all — a costly gamble on a $35 part.
Moderate — most ports are Schrader-style so refrigerant recovery may not be required, but you must depressurize or work with a valve-core tool and reconnect the two control wires correctly. Verify the port depresses before removal. Plan on 30–45 minutes; disconnect power first.
