The Goodman 22309501 is a factory flue pipe used in the combustion venting path of AMVC950905CXAD 96% AFUE variable-speed gas furnaces. In a condensing furnace the flue carries cooled combustion products from the induced-draft blower and heat exchanger to the vent connection. The pipe's dimensions and connection geometry are matched to the cabinet so the draft pressure switch reads correctly and combustion gases are contained. A cracked, warped, or corroded flue pipe can cause venting faults, pressure-switch errors, and unsafe flue-gas leakage — making a correct OEM replacement important for both reliability and safety.
The genuine 22309501 is molded to the exact length, diameter, and flange pattern of the AMVC9 vent path, so it seals against the blower housing and vent fitting without adapters. Substitute pipe rarely matches the connection geometry and can compromise the pressure-switch signal or the flue seal. For a combustion-side component, the OEM part is the correct and safest choice.
Difficulty: Moderate. Because this is a combustion-venting part, work carefully: shut off gas and power, remove the vent connections and any gaskets or clamps, fit the new flue pipe, and re-seal all joints per Goodman's instructions. Verify draft and check for flue-gas leaks on start-up. If you're not comfortable working on the venting system, have a licensed HVAC technician install it. Typical time is 30–45 minutes.
