The Goodman B1796630 Flowrator Inlet Tube is a genuine OEM refrigerant tube that feeds the flowrator (piston-style metering device) at the evaporator coil of the WAHMS4961P4AAA air handler. This tube carries liquid refrigerant from the liquid line into the metering device, where it is restricted and distributed to the coil. A kinked, corroded, or improperly brazed inlet tube disrupts the refrigerant charge and metering, causing poor cooling, frosting, and capacity loss.
This genuine OEM tube matches the factory diameter, length, and bend geometry so it aligns with the flowrator body and liquid line without strain on the joints. Generic tubing can introduce restriction or alignment stress that leads to leaks at the braze joints. For a sealed, correctly metered system, the OEM tube is the right part.
Difficulty: Hard (4/5). Requires EPA-certified refrigerant recovery, brazing, evacuation, and recharging. This is a sealed-system repair — professional HVAC service is strongly recommended. Plan 1–2 hours including recovery and vacuum.
