The Goodman 0130F00010S Flame Sensor is a genuine OEM flame-rectification rod for the WGGE4549A115MAA gas furnace. After ignition, the control board sends a small current through this sensor; the flame conducts (rectifies) that current, proving to the board that a burner flame is actually present. If the sensor is dirty, corroded, or cracked, the board reads a weak or absent signal and shuts the gas valve within seconds — the classic symptom of a furnace that lights briefly and then dies. Replacing a failed sensor restores steady, safe operation.
Flame sensors depend on precise rod length and mounting position to sit correctly in the flame. This genuine Goodman OEM sensor matches the factory geometry, delivering a strong, stable microamp signal. Generic sensors sometimes sit too far from the flame and produce weak readings that cause intermittent lockouts. For reliable ignition proving, the OEM part is the safer choice.
Easy (1/5). One screw and one wire connector. Disconnect power before servicing. Tip: if your furnace is short-cycling, try gently cleaning the existing rod with fine steel wool before replacing — but a cracked or heavily pitted sensor should be swapped out.
