The Goodman 0130F00010S flame sensor confirms that a flame is present after ignition on the WFD18115S5CXCB furnace and related models. It uses flame rectification to send a micro-amp signal back to the control board; when that signal drops — usually from oxidation buildup on the rod — the board shuts the gas valve and the furnace short-cycles or locks out. Replacing a fouled or cracked sensor is one of the most common no-heat repairs.
The OEM Goodman sensor arrives with the correct rod length, bend, and bracket geometry so it sits in the proper part of the flame envelope. Generic sensors frequently need repositioning and can read a weak flame signal, causing nuisance lockouts. For a reliable, first-try fix, OEM is the safer choice.
Easy. Typically a single screw and one spade connector. Cut power, remove the burner-compartment panel, swap the sensor, and restore power. A 10–15 minute job for most homeowners.
