The Goodman 0130F00010S is a factory-original flame sensor (flame rectification rod) for the Goodman/Amana VDS80804BXAA gas furnace. This sensor confirms that the burners have actually lit after ignition; if it doesn't detect a flame within a few seconds, the control board shuts off the gas valve for safety. A dirty, oxidized, or cracked flame sensor is one of the most common causes of a furnace that lights briefly then shuts down (short-cycling). Installing a fresh OEM sensor restores reliable, safe ignition.
Generic flame rods can have the wrong rod length or insulator geometry, producing a weak microamp signal and nuisance lockouts. This genuine OEM Goodman sensor delivers the correct flame-rectification current the control board expects, for consistent, code-compliant operation.
Easy (DIY-friendly). Cut power, remove one mounting screw, unplug the wire lead, and swap in the new sensor — roughly 10–15 minutes. Avoid touching the rod with bare fingers, and never sand a new sensor. If your issue persists after replacement, have the gas valve and control board checked by a technician.
