The Goodman 0130F00010S flame sensor is a genuine OEM flame-rectification rod for the VDS80603ANAA gas furnace. This sensor confirms that the burners actually lit after the igniter fires: it passes a micro-amp rectified current through the flame to the control board, which keeps the gas valve open only while a valid flame is detected. When the sensor becomes coated in oxide or fails, the furnace ignites and then shuts down within seconds — a classic short-cycling / no-heat symptom that a fresh sensor resolves.
The OEM 0130F00010S uses the correct rod length, mounting bracket, and terminal so it sits precisely in the flame and reads a strong, stable signal. Generic sensors that sit too shallow or use a different insulator produce weak, drifting flame current and repeat lockouts. For reliable ignition, the factory sensor is worth it.
Shut off power and gas. The sensor mounts to the burner assembly with a single screw and one push-on wire. Remove the old rod, install the new 0130F00010S, and reconnect the lead. Avoid touching the rod tip with bare fingers. Restore power and confirm the furnace lights and stays running through a full heat cycle. Typical replacement time is 10–15 minutes.
