The Goodman B1172605 Flame Sensor is the genuine OEM flame-rectification rod for the GUS100-4 gas furnace. This sensor tells the control board that a flame is present after ignition; when it becomes coated with oxide or silica the furnace will light, run a few seconds, then shut off on a failed flame-sense — one of the most common no-heat callbacks. Replacing this inexpensive part restores dependable, uninterrupted heating.
This is a genuine Goodman OEM sensor built to the exact rod length, bracket geometry, and terminal spec of the original — a drop-in fit with no bending or adapting. Generic universal sensors can work but often require repositioning within the flame and may sit at the wrong height, causing weak or intermittent flame signal. For a furnace as ignition-sensitive as the GUS100-4, OEM is the reliable choice.
Easy (1/5). Cut power, remove one screw, unplug the spade terminal, and swap. A light polish of the new rod's contact area with fine steel wool before install ensures a clean flame signal. Most homeowners complete this in under 15 minutes.
