The Goodman 0130F00010S Flame Sensor is the flame-rectification rod that confirms the burner has lit on the GSU100-4 gas furnace. It generates a micro-amp signal that tells the control board a flame is present; when the rod oxidizes or cracks, the furnace lights briefly then shuts down — the classic "ignites and short-cycles" symptom and flame-failure lockout.
The OEM sensor uses the correct rod length, bend, and ceramic insulator so it sits precisely in the flame envelope and reads a strong signal. Generic rods often mount at the wrong depth and produce weak or intermittent flame current, leading to nuisance lockouts. The genuine Goodman part is a direct bolt-in.
Easy (2/5). Power down the furnace, remove one screw, unplug the wire, and install the new sensor. A 10-minute repair — one of the most cost-effective fixes for an intermittent furnace.
Genuine Goodman OEM — restores reliable ignition and flame proving.
