The genuine Goodman 0130F00010S Flame Sensor is a direct-fit replacement engineered for the Goodman GSU080-4 gas furnace. The flame sensor confirms the presence of a flame during ignition by conducting a micro-amp rectification current back to the control board. When it becomes coated in oxide or cracks, the board fails to "see" the flame and shuts the burners down within seconds — the classic symptom of a furnace that lights, runs briefly, then drops out and locks on error. Replacing this inexpensive part is one of the most common fixes for intermittent no-heat calls.
This is the OEM Goodman component built to factory tolerances, so the rod length, ceramic insulator, and terminal position match the burner assembly exactly — no bending or shimming to get a stable flame signal. Universal aftermarket sensors are cheaper but often read a weaker or noisier micro-amp current, leading to repeat nuisance lockouts. For a reliable, long-lasting repair we recommend the OEM part.
Easy (1/5). A single mounting screw and one push-on connector. Cut furnace power first, gently clean or swap the sensor, and reconnect. Most homeowners complete this in 10-15 minutes with a nut driver. If lockouts persist after replacement, inspect the wiring and control board.
