The genuine Goodman 0130F00010S flame sensor is the OEM flame-rectification rod for the Goodman GMT140-5A gas furnace and other compatible Goodman/Amana models. The sensor generates a micro-amp current when it detects the burner flame, telling the control board that ignition succeeded. When the rod becomes oxidized or fails, the furnace lights briefly then shuts down — the classic short-cycle or ignition-lockout symptom that leaves you without heat.
The OEM 0130F00010S uses a Kanthal-grade sensing rod and factory-matched bracket geometry, so the flame contacts the rod exactly where the board expects. Generic sensors often sit at the wrong angle or use lower-grade rods that oxidize quickly, bringing the short-cycling right back. The genuine part is the durable, drop-in fix.
Easy — typically one screw and a single push-on wire connector. Power down the furnace, remove the old sensor, install the new rod, and reconnect. A light cleaning of the surrounding area is a good idea while you are in there.
Disconnect power before servicing. Do not sand the new sensor's coating. Consult a licensed technician if unsure.
