The Goodman 0130F00010S is a genuine OEM flame sensor (flame rod) for the GMT135-5 gas furnace. This sensor uses flame rectification to prove the burner has actually lit; if the control board doesn't detect adequate microamp signal within the trial-for-ignition period, it shuts the gas valve for safety. A dirty, cracked, or degraded flame sensor is the single most common cause of furnace short-cycling and intermittent no-heat.
The genuine Goodman sensor delivers a clean, stable microamp signal and uses the exact rod length and bend the control board expects. Universal sensors may sit at the wrong flame position, produce a weak signal, or use inferior alloys that oxidize quickly, returning you to the same short-cycling fault within a season. For reliable flame proving, OEM is the safe choice.
Difficulty: Easy (DIY-friendly). Cut power to the furnace, unplug the single sensor wire, remove one mounting screw, install the new rod, and reconnect. Typical time under 10 minutes. If the old flame signal was marginal, a fresh sensor often restores reliable heat immediately.
