The Goodman 0130F00010S Flame Sensor is a genuine OEM replacement rod built for the Goodman GMT090-3A gas furnace and related GMT-series models. The flame sensor confirms the burner has lit by measuring the microamp signal that flame conducts to ground; when the rod becomes oxidized or cracked, the control board can't prove flame and shuts the burners down — the classic symptom of a furnace that ignites, runs a few seconds, then repeatedly cycles off (ignition lockout).
The OEM Goodman sensor matches the exact rod length, bracket geometry, and terminal placement of the original, so it seats correctly in the flame path on the first try. Generic sensors often require bending or adapting and can give weak, drifting microamp readings. OEM ensures a stable flame signal and dependable operation.
A worn OEM-fit sensor is inexpensive insurance against nuisance lockouts.
Easy (2/5) — Remove one screw, unplug the spade connector, and swap the sensor. Power off the furnace first. A light cleaning of a lightly oxidized rod can help, but a pitted rod should be replaced.
