The Goodman 0130F00010S Flame Sensor is a genuine OEM replacement component engineered specifically for the GMPH120-5 gas furnace. The flame sensor confirms the presence of a burner flame during each heating cycle; when it becomes coated in oxide or silica, the control board can no longer verify ignition and shuts the furnace down as a safety measure. Replacing a failed or fouled sensor is one of the most common fixes for a furnace that lights briefly and then cuts out (short cycling).
This is the factory OEM part, built to Goodman's exact rod length, mounting bracket, and terminal spec so it seats correctly and reads a stable microamp signal. Generic universal sensors often require bending or adapter wiring and can produce weaker, drifting flame-rectification readings that trigger nuisance lockouts. For a reliable, drop-in repair we recommend the OEM part.
Easy — typically a single screw and one spade connector. Always shut off power and gas before servicing. Gently clean the new rod's mounting surface, avoid touching the sensing rod, and confirm the microamp reading after install.
