The Goodman 0130F00010S flame sensor (flame rod) is the OEM ignition-verification component for the GME950603BXAA 96% AFUE gas furnace. It generates a micro-amp rectification signal that tells the control board a flame is present. When the sensor coats with oxide or fails, the furnace lights briefly and then shuts down — the classic short-cycling / no-heat lockout. Replacing it with a genuine sensor restores reliable ignition.
Genuine Goodman sensors use the correct rod length, ceramic insulator, and mounting bracket so the flame envelope contacts the rod exactly as engineered. Generic universal sensors often need bending to fit and can produce a weak or unstable signal, leading to intermittent lockouts. OEM ensures a stable flame-current reading.
Easy. Turn off power and gas, remove the single mounting screw and spade connector, and swap in the new sensor. A quick clean of surrounding contacts and a flame-current check with a multimeter complete the job — typically under 15 minutes.
