The Goodman 0130F00010S Flame Sensor is a genuine OEM flame-rectification rod for the GKS90904CXAG gas furnace. It confirms the presence of a flame after ignition by conducting a small microamp current through the flame to ground. If the control board doesn't detect that signal, it shuts off the gas valve as a safety measure. A dirty, corroded, or cracked flame sensor is the single most common cause of furnaces that light and then shut off after a few seconds (short cycling).
This genuine Goodman OEM sensor uses the correct rod length, alloy, and ceramic insulator to produce a stable microamp signal your control board reads reliably. Generic sensors may mount but often sit at the wrong depth in the flame, producing weak or fluctuating readings that trigger intermittent lockouts. The OEM part restores dependable flame proving.
Easy (1/5). About 10 minutes. Turn off power and gas, remove the single mounting screw, disconnect the sensor lead, install the new rod, and reconnect. Avoid touching the rod with bare fingers. On restart, a good sensor typically reads 2–6 microamps. Consult a technician if issues persist.
