The Goodman 0130F00010S is a genuine OEM flame sensor (flame rectification rod) engineered for the GDS80703ANA gas furnace. The flame sensor sits in the burner flame and confirms ignition to the control board using a micro-amp rectification current. When the rod becomes oxidized, cracked, or coated with carbon, the board no longer 'sees' the flame and shuts the gas valve within seconds — the classic symptom of a furnace that lights, runs briefly, then shuts off and short-cycles repeatedly.
This genuine Goodman OEM sensor uses the correct rod length, ceramic insulator, and mounting bracket for a proper flame position — critical for a stable rectification signal. Generic universal rods exist and can work, but incorrect rod geometry often produces a weak micro-amp reading and recurring lockouts. The factory part removes that guesswork.
Difficulty: Easy (DIY-friendly, ~10–15 minutes). Turn off power and gas. Remove the single mounting screw, disconnect the sensor wire, and install the new rod — never touch the metal rod with bare fingers, as oils can foul it. While you're in there, inspect and gently clean the burner area. If the furnace still short-cycles with a fresh sensor, check the ground connection and control board.
